NHIF has a network of field offices including Nairobi that provide social security and other public sector programmes in the 47 counties of Kenya.
These offices are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the health insurance program, including the processing of claims, the issuing of health insurance cards, and the maintenance of registries of insured persons and beneficiaries.

The National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) is a state parastatal that was established in 1966 as a department under the ministry of Health.
Their vision is to be the trusted and valued partner in securing the health of our community. In addition to that they have a mission to enhance equitable and sustainable health and well-being of our community, cushioning them from financial hardship.
Its membership is open to all Kenyans who have attained the age of 18 years. Currently it has 95 fully autonomous branches in different counties across the country.
Each of these branches and offices offer comprehensive customer services. You can also access NHIF services in any of the 47 Huduma centres across the country.
